The Criteria For The Calculation of IELTS Score

IELTS band scale lies from 1-9 and your overall band score is rounded to the nearest whole or half band. On the basis of four modules, the score is calculated on the weight allotted to them. Also, You can score whole (e.g., 5.0, 6.0, 7.0) or half (e.g., 5.5., 6.5, 7.5) bands in each part of the test. In the case of round off for the score, it is done as you achieve in the four modules.

Now you will be awarded an Overall Band Score of 6.5 and the total score of 25 ÷ 4 = 6.25, which is a band score of 6.5. Which means the score is all rounded on the basis of your awarded score.

Listening and Reading Scores

In the Listening and Reading scores, each component each contains 40 questions. Each correct answer provides the reward of one mark. As the Band scores ranging from Band 1 to Band 9 are awarded to candidates on the basis of their raw scores.

Writing and Speaking Scores

In writing band score is given on the basis of Task 1 and Task 2 and all of the four criteria are equally weighted. In speaking there is again four criteria the Fluency, Lexical Resource, Grammatical Accuracy, and Pronunciation. The four criteria are equally weighted again
